Lunch on the Lawn @ Granville Bowling Club

It was my first visit to a Lawn Bowling club ever. I have always seen the lush, perfectly trimmed greens from afar, never really venturing closer, as it was stereotypically reserved for the elderly.

Many young guns and Vancouver pretties descended for a worthy cause and a fun evening of competition and good food.  I was always curious about how good Vij’s indian food really is, and was thrilled to see the Vij’s food truck parked on the grounds.

This was a fundraiser for and I was invited to capture some moments for the record and promotion.

The actual cause for the fundraiser was inspiring & the food was great, the bowling even better. I never thought I would play and was roped into a mixed team. I had much fun playing this sport, and recommend it to anyone.

There is skill to be learned in getting those bowls to turn, and very much like curling, you need to have your ball, drop closest to the white ball, to win. What is a game without defence, and this is where the fun comes in when your team mate tries to knock the oppositions ball further. Strategy!
